GTA Vice City The Story,Previews,Features,Soundtrack & Movie

The Story

You are Tommy Vercetti. Released from maximum security prison after 15 years of isolation, your boss Sonny Forelli is not very happy about your re-appearance in the city.
Tommy was arrested for a very gruesome incident, and the word on the streets was that the Forellis had set Tommy up. Tommy however was as loyal as a hitman could be, and never revealed his connections to the Forellis.

Considering all this, a trip to the south sounded like a good idea, so you're sent off to Vice City with business as an excuse.
On arrival in Vice City, all does not go well. Tommy is betrayed, and his allies turn out to be his enemies. Once Forelli demands his money back, Tommy sets off with a corrupt lawyer to fight back and take over the glamorous paradise.
Instead of 8-Ball, Tommy's sidekick will be Lance. They meet in the beginning sequence when Tommy loses his money, and Lance's brother gets shot. As Tommy was a good friend of Lance's brother, Lance feels connected to Tommy, and together they work to get revenge.

Features

You've heard a lot of rumours of what's in and what's not, right? Don't believe it until you see it here - this is the real deal.
  • A Bigger, Better City
Liberty City was big. Vice City is huge. It's about three times the size of Liberty City, more complex and better detail.

  • Motorcycles (Also see dedicated vehicles section)
Motorcycles bring a whole new mode of transport to the next generation of the GTA series. It has to be said, the original motorcycles in the original GTA kicked arse. Sure they were flat images in a mostly-flat world, but the fact you could hop on a motorcycle and speed away from anyone, down the middle of a road was excellent. Now they're back, in the GTA next-generation of 3D. Watch the PCJ-600 and the Freeway in action (Requires QuickTime)

  • Helicopters
Unlike GTA3, you are able to fully fly helicopters in Vice City. Although these will be hard to get hold of, they should be easier to fly than GTA3's half-winged 'dodo' plane. Choppers become available after you take over Diaz's mansion. You can also find a news chopper at the VCN News building.

Now, we know many of you are asking yourself "What the heck does that mean?". Simply put, it means you'll get better detail, an extended draw-distance, and lot's of one-time features (such as people on skates, criminals being chased by police, etc. It also means faster loading times and fewer slowdowns.

Movie

In February we had rumors going on about a GTA movie. Well now Rockstar have confirmed they are interested in making a GTA movie, but they're not looking for the blockbuster.
Apparently Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games, has been going around and trying to get people interested in making a GTA movie for 5 years. Noone even blinked. Then after GTA3, producers started calling in, wanting to make one, and discussing ideas.
Rockstar knew that if they wanted to make a movie it would be more of a personal movie, with their touch. They clearly knew that they don't want to have a blockbuster. In their own words: "A bad movie, a commercial movie, would damage our game".
So for now there is no GTA movie, but if there ever will be (and if the GTA series will stay popular), you can expect something cool. Something original. A "landslide approach".
